It's never easy when you've suffered an injury in the workplace
While at work it's a small confidence boost to realise there's a government-endorsed system in place that you can turn to if you suffer an injury.
Accidents in the workplace, or in other locations where outside authorities are responsible, can drastically impact on lives. Many people think that pursuing legal recompense is only an option for extreme life-threatening injuries but the truth is that if an injury negatively affects a person's existence they're likely to be due some sort of fiscal recompense.
The No Win No Fee procedure- otherwise known as the Conditional Fee Arrangement system - has been firmly in place in the UK as the primary form of work-related injury claim for a decade and takes the form of an agreement between the injured party and a lawyer. If the lawyer wins the case they are entitled to their usual fee, agreed with the client beforehand and eventually paid for by the party who loses the case. The injured party, then, receives full compensation, free of deductions. If they do not win, then the case does not cost the injured part anything.
The system provides direct motivation for lawyers to work their utmost for their client, and ensures they do not take cases speculatively, merely to charge the client for their time. It makes it vital to the lawyer's interests to work, to the best of their abilities, towards a result that's positive. This, of course, is exactly what the injured party wants. This system also gives those without extensive financial resources the opportunity to seek redress regarding personal injury claims. In the UK such claims have to be made within three years of an incident, although there are exceptions to this rule. The system has taken the burden off government regulatory legal bodies and places the decision-making process firmly in the hands of specialised No Win No Fee lawyers and their clients accident claims.
It's never easy when you've suffered an injury in the workplace but the knowledge that the No Win Now Fee system is in place can be of some comfort.
