Among the highlights on the night will include a monster raffle, a mini auction and musical entertainment by local bands Ruby Dukes and Macey South.

Manchester United tickets, a weekend away are just sample of the amazing raffle prizes on the night while rugby fans will have the chance to get their hands on a rugby jersey by all the Irish rugby team and the rugby ball signed by the Connaught team which will be auctioned off on the night.

There has been numerous spot prizes donated by local businesses and individuals, and it promises to be a memorable night!

The hospice is a vital part of Athlone community. The aim of the South Westmeath Hospice is to provide an appropriate and safe environment within which to deliver the best practice of care and promote dignity in the end stages of life for palliative care patients and their families. The services are community based, available seven days a week and are provided without charge to users and their families.

Spokeswoman for the committee, Karen Flynn, said: “We chose to fundraise for the South Westmeath Hospice as it is a local, essential service and many of us know, or have known, somebody who has benefited from this service on our doorstep. We are aware they are in need of funds so we got the committee together and it grew from there. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors, everyone who bought or sold tickets, Fiddlers Bar for letting us host the night and Ruby Dukes and Macey South for providing the entertainment”.

A staunch supporter of the South Westmeath Hospice, Kevin “Boxer” Moran has given his support for the upcoming fundraiser.
“The hospice relies on local people to raise much needed funds and without the support of fundraisers like this and local businesses the services the hospice offers might not be available,” Cllr Moran commented.

Tickets for the monster raffle are €5 each and can be purchased from the Fiddlers Bar or send a message to the fundraiser for South Westmeath Hospice Facebook page. All are welcome on the night!
