Enterprise Board is first to achieve special Q Mark Award

Westmeath County Enterprise Board has landed at the top of The National 'Q' having just been announced as the first company in Ireland to achieve the highest Q Mark Award for Quality Management Systems. The National Q Mark Awards, known as the "Oscars" of business excellence, saw very own Westmeath County Enterprise Board, go head to head with more than 100 of the best companies in Ireland, before being named victorious as the winner of The Special Recognition Award for being the first organisation in Ireland to achieve The Q Mark Award for Quality Management Systems at Level 3. Being accorded Special Recognition status at The National Q Mark Awards is an outstanding achievement, proving that The Westmeath County Enterprise Board is a leading example to the rest of the country on how to look after its customers and be successful in the present economy. The Westmeath County Enterprise Board is based in Mullingar and provides support to all aspects of enterprise within the Westmeath area. The main function of the Enterprise Board is to facilitate the creation of jobs and to provide both maintenance and support functions to ensure the sustainability of jobs. Westmeath County Enterprise Board has a strong record for quality and excellence having been finalists at the National Q Mark Awards in both 2005 and 2010. They went on to win awards in 2007 and 2008. Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government Phil Hogan congratulated Westmeath County Enterprise Board and said that their "focus on quality and excellence and their commitment to their customers was a real winning combination!"
