Belvedere House Gardens and Park, The Westmeath Examiner and a host of other sponsors are giving you the chance to win a Garden Makeover worth €15,000. The prize includes, Garden Design, Raised Vegetable beds, Orchard and Soft Fruit area, Green House, Chicken Ark with Chickens, Bee Hive and Bees, Saddleback Pigs and Sty ,a range of Chillington Hoes, Composter and a starter Home Brew Kit for Beer and Wine Making.

The Prize also includes a five day course for two people at The John Seymour School of Self Sufficiency at the Killowen Small Holding in New Ross Co. Wexford. The course covers, Organic Gardening, Poultry Management, Pig Husbandry, Wine and Beer making and other areas such as Storing and Preserving food and most importantly Composting. The Bee Hive and Bees will be supplied and installed by the Belvedere Beekeepers and training will be provided in the Apiary at Belvedere House.

The Parklands and original grounds at Belvedere House were designed and laid out by a Thomas Vallentine who "conducted the Gardening Business for the Right Hon. The Earl of Belvedere" In honour of his achievements this year Belvedere is celebrating" Vallentines Way" showing you how to love your Garden. Each weekly winner will compete in a series of activities at Belvedere on Valentines Day Sunday 14th February to win the overall prize. Runner up prizes will also be awarded.

HOW TO ENTER - 3 Simple Steps.

Step One - answer the question inside this weeks Westmeath Examiner.

Step two - Tell us how much you would love your Garden turned into a Self Sufficiency Garden in no more than 150 words.

Step Three - Send us a picture of your Garden from an elevated position if possible and a sketch showing the external dimensions, also indicate North on your drawing.

Send your entry to: Belvedere Self Sufficiency Competition, Westmeath Examiner, Black hall Place, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

Don't forget to include your details for steps 2 and 3.

Rules of Entry.

- Each weekly winner will be chosen by a panel of Judges and Judges decision is final.

- Each entry must be on the official Westmeath Examiner Entry Form.

- Competition is open to Homeowners over 18 with a minimum garden space of 20m x 10 m

- The overall winner shall give permission for media usage of finished Garden.

- Competition is open to both urban and rural dwellers living in Westmeath.

- You can enter each week as results will be on a weekly basis.

- The four Weekly Prize Winners shall take part in an activity to determine the overall winner at Belvedere House on Sunday 14th February.

- The overall Winner to provide reasonable access upon notice for works to be carried out.

- The Self Sufficiency garden shall be the sole responsibility of the Winner to maintain and Belvedere House and the Westmeath Examiner do not accept any liability regarding the works carried out.
