Caring for your hair

A single hair grows on your head for just a little less than three years. The growing process then takes a rest for about three months before that hair falls out and a new hair not only grows in its place but in the very same hair follicle. This starts the hair growth cycle all over again. Isn't that just amazing!

Between 60 and 100 hairs will fall naturally from your head every single day but these are being replaced as the others are falling out. This is called natural everyday hair loss and should not concern anyone.

However millions of men and women nationwide are affected by real hair loss and thinning hair, the causes of which include genetic factors, stress, diet and medical issues.

Over the years I have been looking at products that address my worries and concerns and have found some products that I can share with you. It is my personal opinion and not one founded on science, just over 30 years hairdressing experience.

Taking care of the scalp and newly growing hair is important. Villa Lodola products do not contain synthetic colours or any raw materials derived from GMOs. Organic-ecological VIS Scalp Lotion is for treating hair loss and stimulating the production of hair. Its formula is packed with active ingredients that add vitality to the hair follicles strengthens fine hair down to the roots and contributes to blocking hair loss. It contains extracts of thyme, nettle, ginseng, red grape and olive.

Organic-ecological VIS Shampoo is for fine hair that lacks strength and tends to fall out. Its formula is packed with extracts that have hair thickening and hair growth stimulating properties. The shampooing agent is derived from coconut and olive oil which is similar to and highly compatible with the skin, they ensure deep yet extremely gentle cleansing. The Villa Lodola range of products available also include shampoos, conditioners and treatments for all hair types including greasy hair and scalp, dandruff, psoriasis and seborrhoea dermatitis. I will follow up on this with organic hair colour next week for those who need a choice or have a sensitive scalp.
