Harry is looking for sponsors for the camels and the actual races. The Honorary Veterinary Officer for the event is happy with the conditions and is satisfied that the camels are receiving due care and attention. Harry can be contacted at 087 6591759 for further details. The day will start with the lighting of the roast pig on a spit at 11am and the special on the day is what is described as nine birds in one burger. U14 Co Final The much awaited U14 county football final will take place in Kilbeggan next Saturday morning at 11.30am. Moate Boxing Club Four juvenile members of Moate Boxing Club were recently presented with certificates from Westmeath County Council in recognition of their achievement in winning all Ireland titles last season. Cllr Joe Whelan made the presentations to Joe Joyce, Johnny Joyce and Gary Molloy (who won the U18, U21 and Intermediate titles). Joe Ward was unable to attend so Mary Ryan accepted the certificate on his behalf. Gary Molloy was in action last weekend in the U21 all Ireland semi final where he was defeated on a 5-2 score line by Chris Phelan from the Ryston club. This is a big disappointment for Gary who now has to wait until the senior championships for his next outing. Phelan fought a very good bout using a squat approach which made him hard to score against. The enforced break could prove to be a blessing in disguise for the Moate boxer who has enjoyed a very busy year winning three All Ireland titles and representing his country on many occasions including the European championships. Gary has been boxing almost without a break for the last fifteen months and will no doubt be highly motivated for the senior championship where his old adversary Declan Geraghty has enjoyed a very successful year. Joe Ward is also back in action next weekend when he takes part in a round robin international tournament.
