Second Moatrix Festival set for this weekend

The town will be rockin' this weekend as the second Moatrix Festival takes place in Don's Bar and Garden. The line up is even bigger and some say better than last year.

Hogan, Voxall Vivas, VoxPossible, Brain Washington, Cleere, Eclipse, Heymaker, High Voltage, the modest lads from Ka Tet, Makeshift, Mark Conway and Band, 9 Lives, Parallel to Eden, Something Simple, Sugar Fungus, Vasara and JP13 are amongst the brilliant lineup for the weekend. A selection of singer/songwriters will also be performing on the weekend and the organisers, Stuart Clifford, Zara Malone and Damien Claffey have also lined up a great day for all the younger children with their very enclosed childrens garden.

The Moatrix really is a recession busting festival, Everyone can afford it. Ticket prices are adults €10 per day or €15 for the weekend. Children and pensioners tickets are priced at €4 per day and family day tickets €25. With 20 bands, 6 singer/songwriters, an amazing children's garden and an art exbo with a twist, these prices represent great value.

A group of English visitors flew in for The Moatrix on Monday and a Scottish crew are arriving on Friday.

The whole purpose of the festival is to raise funds for the Neil Mellon Fund. Stuart, Zara and Damien are heading off to help build homes for the needy and in these difficult times it is harder to gather the support they need for this trip.

A tremendous effort has gone into organising this weekend and your support would be appreciated.
