Fr Sean Kilbane Retiring The parish curate in Moore Rev. Fr. Sean Kilbane is planning to retire from his position during the month of July next. He will continue to live in the priests house at Rooty in Moore. Since coming to Moore some years ago, Father Sean has been most dedicated to his duty and is a popular figure in the local community. He is a member of the local Active Retirement Group and has attended other meetings in the district during his time here. Prior to coming to Moore, he helped out at parish work in Menlough, Co. Galway. Fr. Kilbane is a native of Mountbellew in North Galway. In his younger days he was on the African Missions. This year he will be celebrating the Golden Jubilee of his Ordination as a priest. All in Moore parish wish Fr. Sean a long and a happy retirement. Help needed Lots of help is urgently needed for the Moore Regional Clean Up which takes place in the parish on Sunday, April 17th. Helpers are kindly requested to turn up at Moore Community Hall at 2p.m. This project is part of the National Spring Clean Programme of activities. Mission fundraising A special fundraising event to help missionary work was held at Millars of Ballydangan on Friday night last. All money gathered is going to help project which Sr. Ancilla (Bridie) Grenham is involved in. Sr. Ancilla is a native of Moore South and at the present time is working in a poverty stricken region of Peru. Celtic Models of Ministry Rev Fr. Roy Simpson was in Ballinasloe on Thursday evening last and gave a very informative talk on the subject of Celtic Models of Ministry at the Carlton Shearwater Hotel Marina Point. There was a good attendance present for the talk.
