Moate Dog Rescue remains under pressure

The work continues for those involved in Moate Dog Rescue as they try to combat the ill treatment meted out to the loveliest of animals. A recent example of the work carried out by the rescue centre was the four abandoned pups picked up two weeks ago from a derelict house. A concerned lady with nowhere else to turn rang to tell Maria she had found a little pup straying and had discovered the rest of the litter in a run down derelict house. Unfortunately, there was also a dead pup lying on rubbish with one of the other pups loyally staying with him and minding him. Moate Dog Rescue met the lady the following day and picked up the pups. They were full of fleas, worms and very hungry. Moate Dog Rescue brought them home, put them in a bath, fed them and you can see the results in the picture. Moate Dog Rescue would like to say a big thank you to the lady who called for taking the time to help these vulnerable creatures. The team also picked Erin up at the weekend, a very sad Red Setter who is extremely thin and covered in mange. Unfortunately Moate Dog Rescue is now running out of space and funds and is struggling to cope at the moment. The rescue team would greatly appreciate any help from the public, things are tight for everyone at the moment but if you and your friends would organise a fundraiser or come up with any practical help it would be a great boost. The help received to date is greatly appreciated but the work is ongoing and getting bigger all the time. Take a look at the Moate Dog Rescue page on Facebook and enjoy some of the more cheerful stories from owners who are delighted with the dogs they received from Moate Dog Rescue. The page will also show some of the animals currently looking for a caring home. All the animals at the home have been given the necessary veterinary care and are available to suitable owners.
