Ruby wedding celebrations for Kieran and Mary
The Gavin family gathered with friends on Saturday night week to celebrate the ruby wedding anniversary of Kieran and Peggy who were married on the 3rd of May 1969 in the Cathedral of Christ the King in Mullingar.
Kieran, a native of Church Street in Moate, met up with Peggy, a native of Coralstown, at a function in the County Hall in Mullingar.
Kieran, who has a great interest in local history and a passion for farming and vintage farm machinery, spent most of his working life as a secondary teacher in Kilbeggan. Peggy, who has a great love of nature and flowers, is very well known in the locality from her days as district nurse in this area.
Kieran and Peggy were blessed with four children, John, twins Kieran and Dolores, and Antoinette. Grandchildren Chloe, Conor, Gavin and Bronagh ensure that life is never dull for this very popular couple.
