Local architects firm backs Midlands Simon with building advice session

A firm of local architects and engineers have decided to show their support for those experiencing homelessness by freely making available to the public their vast range of expertise and advice in an initiative called 'Building a Better Community'.

On Saturday June 13, in the Radisson SAS Hotel in Athlone, in exchange for a donation of €40 to Midlands Simon Community, the public will have the fantastic opportunity to avail of a one-hour consultation with either Architects or Engineers from Athlone-based company MMKDA Ltd,

There is a huge variety of top quality advice on offer, so if you have a project or home improvement in mind this is the ideal opportunity to get some expert help and guidance. Whether you are interested in making your home more energy efficient, or need help with the planning process, or would like some help with costing a project, or if you have any other issues or areas where you need some general advice this is an opportunity not to miss.

MMKDA is a multi-disciplinary company of Chartered Engineers and Chartered Architects. The team at MMKDA has built up a vast wealth of experience in the construction industry over the past twenty years. The company provides architectural, civil, and structural engineering services on projects ranging from residential, commercial and industrial developments, to masterplanning and water and sewerage schemes.

Midlands Simon Community supports people who are either at risk of, or who are experiencing homelessness and has worked with over 500 people to date, including over 170 children.

Tony O`Riordan, CEO, Midlands Simon Community, said: 'We are facing into a very challenging time for us all, but it is especially difficult for those who have no home. To enable Midlands Simon Community to continue to provide vital services to some of the most vulnerable in our community, we are, and will continue to be, dependent on the support of the wider community. The level of support we have received from all in MMKDA has been remarkable and the initiative is an excellent example of how by working together we can help to end homelessness.'

Blair Adamson, a director at MMKDA, said that the company is delighted to be involved in the initiative. 'The Midlands Simon Community provides an excellent and much needed service in the Midlands and indeed nationwide. We are very glad to be able to contribute to their continued success and hope our involvement will be beneficial to them and indeed to the wider community whom we would encourage to avail of the opportunity of a professional consultation.'
