The driver of a truck which overturned at a roundabout on the M6 motorway outside Moate last Thursday was treated for minor injuries following the accident.

Significant traffic disruption was caused as a result of the single-vehicle accident, which was reported to the Gardai at 5pm on Thursday last.

Sergeant Ollie Baker told the Westmeath Independent that the tuck driver was negotiating the motorway roundabout, near Browne's filling station, when the truck turned on its side.

He stated that the driver was taken to Tullamore Hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries.

The roundabout was cordoned off and a traffic diversion was put in place for a short time while the vehicle was removed from the scene, Sergeant Baker said.

What do you mean 'minor injuries'? His neck (C1) was broken in three places. It's an absolute miracle that he's alive! Normally people who break C1 or C2 don't survive.
