Two of Moate Community School's teachers recently represented their clubs with great success in the Senior and Junior Westmeath club championship finals.

On October 4 Des Dolan was man of the match in Garrycastle's victory over St Loman's. Des and his team beat Clonguish of Longford at Pearse Park on Sunday last in the Leinster Club Championship.

On October 11, Gary Flanagan of Caulry was also man of the match in his club's defeat of St Paul's in the junior county championship final. Gary and his Caulry team travelled to meet the Wexford county champion's Blackwater in Pairc Naomh Bríd near Enniscorthy on Sunday last but unfortunately they lost by 0-12 to 0-09.
