Community Care

The annual fundraising dance in aid of Taughmaconnell Community Care will be held at Gullane's Hotel, Main Street, Ballinasloe, on this coming Friday night, January 27. Live music for the occasion will be supplied by the ever popular Brendan Shine and his band. Your kind support for this worthy cause would be appreciated. Prices: €12.50. Danging from 10pm

Vintage Club

The progressive members of the South Roscommon Vintage Club will stage their annual Auto Jumble and Show in the Community Centre in Taughmaconnell on this coming Sunday, January 29 commencing at 11am. Sign posts will be in place on all roads leading to the rural event.

Lotto winners

Heartiest congratulations are offered to Nuala and Grace Kelly, Rathpeak, Ballinasloe who recently had the great luck of winning €7,600 in the Moore United Soccer Club weekly draw. The prize winners received their cheque at the function in Millars of Ballydangan.

Chess classes

Following a short Christmas break, classes in the game of chess has resumed at the hall in Shannonbridge village on Monday nights starting at 7.30pm. New players are always most welcome to come along at the arranged time.

School enrolment

Applications forms for students enrolment at St. Ciaran's National School in Moore in this coming September are now available. The closing date for the receipt of applications is March 30 next. The school principle Ms Martina Hogan can be contacted at 090-967343.
