Turnout at polling stations in the Midlands has reportedly been low, thus far, as voting continues in the referendum on whether or not to abolish the Seanad.
At one polling station, St Mary's National School in Athlone, the turnout up to 2.30pm was estimated at just 7-8%.
Voting will continue until 10pm. In Westmeath, 57,830 people are eligible to vote in the referendum, while a total of 45,821 people can cast their vote in Roscommon.
In addition to being asked if they agree to the abolition of the Seanad, voters are also being asked if they agree to the establishment of a new Court of Appeal.
