Westmeath Sports Partnership is urging the public to get walking this November with a series of events planned for the Athlone area.
This series of walks are social/recreational and are suitable for all abilities and fitness levels.
The first event kicks off in Portlick on November 4 next, with Carn Park Bog in Mount Temple the venue for the second walk on Monday, November 11.
It’s the turn of Glasson Bog to host a walking event on November 18, before the final two events at Our Lady’s Bower at 11am on November 25, and at Athlone Regional Sports Centre at 7.30pm later that evening to round off the series. All of the other walks commence at 11am and last one hour.
Participants are advised to get comfortable shoes and some rain gear so that the weather doesn’t interfere with the walks.
Walk tutors will lead each of the walks and ensure participants get adequate warm up and cool down exercises .
