BREAKING: Body of missing angler recovered from Lough Ree

On the 17th day of the search at Lough Ree, a body has been found close to one of the islands.

A massive search has been going on for over a fortnight for missing angler Daryl Burke, a member of the Portadown Anglers.

A body was recovered by RNLI personnel at 2.30pm today, near the shoreline of one of the islands to the west of Yew Point.

Daryl was one of three anglers who took to the waters on the afternoon of Thursday, March 20.

His colleague David Warnock died when the boat capsized while the other angler John Trimble was rescued from the water by the local RNLI lifeboat and brought to hospital. He has since recovered.

Sympathies to Daryl's family, friends and fellow anglers.
