Athlone resident searching for missing parrot

A man living in Athlone has issued a plea for help in reuniting him with his missing pet parrot.

The rare Catalina Macaw - named Kash - flew out a window of an apartment at Ard Ri on the Dublin Road in Athlone at about 5pm yesterday (Sunday).

The parrot's owner said the bird was considered part of the family and is badly missed.

One sighting of the parrot was reported, in the vicinity of St Mary's Church, and the bird was seen flying from there in the direction of the Golden Island Shopping Centre.
