Garda warning for cyclists

Gardai have appealed for information after a number of bikes were taken from a shed in the Barrymore area on Tuesday.

It is the second theft of bikes from a house in the greater Athlone area in recent weeks. Gardai believe that thieves are loading up a van with good value bikes and have appealed to bike owners to ensure their bikes are properly secured and to record the serial numbers.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Barrymore area on Tuesday is asked to contact Athlone Garda Station on 090 6498550.
