Road works for two main approach roads

Two of the town’s main approach roads will have either temporary traffic lights or a stop/go system in operation next week to accommodate work on the watermains rehabilitation scheme.
Work is already taking place on the Ballymahon Road, where a stop/go system is in place and is expected to remain in place for the next fortnight, according to contractor Shareridge. The work on the Ballymahon Road is to go as far as Athlone GAA Club.
Simultaneously, work will be taking place on Grace Road, on the opposite side of town, where temporary traffic lights will be in place for all of next week to facilitate connections to the watermains.
Work is almost complete on the project and Shareridge has said these are the final works on the town’s main thoroughfares, while Marine View is the final housing estate where work is to take place. The contractor confirmed that work on the project is wrapping up, with just a few smaller jobs left to complete.
