Athlone flooding in years gone by

Flooding along the Shannon years gone has been brought vividly to life in newly digitized vintage newsreels.

The short videos, recently uploaded onto YouTube, by the by the Associated Press and British Movietone, show striking black and white footage of flooding in Clonown and the Big Meadow.
