Country kids to join sheerins for local gig

The Sheerin Family continue with their regular once-a-month gig playing to a packed house in Cooney’s Hotel, Ballymahon.

This evening there is a very special treat in store for fans of country music. The Sheerin Family will be joined by a surprise guest from the world of country music and there will be a special appearance from The Country Kids.

Each month they are joined by a guest from the world of Irish entertainment.  Past guests include Nathan Carter, Lisa McHugh, Johnny Brady, Robert Mizzell, Matt Leavy, Philomena Begley and many more.

It is now such a high profile gig that guests are lining up for a chance to perform.

And as well as the celebrity guests, the audience will be sure to be entertained by the next generation of the family in the shape of The Country Kids.

This band of young musicians, ranging in age from 8 to 13, performed, for the second successive year, at the Ballymore Country Music Festival, which took place on the August bank holiday weekend.

The line up consists of five Sheerins; Jack, Sarah, Joseph, John and Ciaran and on the piano was Michael McLoughlin, son of Ray who currently plays piano with The Lisa McHugh Band.

The Sheerin Family Band itself comprises seven family members out of eleven. The family members include: Paul on Steel Guitar, Dessie on Bass, Danny on Vocals and Acoustic Guitar, Kieran on Piano, Tom on Fiddle, Simon on Drums & Carmel on Vocals and Acoustic Guitar.

Their unique sound and crisp harmonies will leave the hairs standing on the back of your neck. The show starts at 10pm and admission is free.
