Good news today for cloonakilla ns

Plans for a new national school at Cloonakilla have taken a major step forward this week.

Roscommon/South Leitrim Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan said today that the building project for the new school in Bealnamullia has gone out to tender.
This means contractors are being invited to submit tenders for selection as the chosen builders for the project.

“This is great news for the school and local community as the project has taken a significant step nearer towards the construction stage,” said Feighan.

“I am delighted that this development is making great strides. As we all know, Cloonakilla NS had an overwhelming case for a new school to cater for the ongoing expansion in enrolment numbers.

“Thankfully, our Government recognised this need and funding is now in place to ensure that a state-of-the-art school will be built.

The two storey building project will comprise 16 classrooms, a general purpose hall, staff areas, library, stores, a hard-play area with three courts and a new car-parking/set down area.
