Local Movember shave for South Westmeath Hospice

A group of locals will be shedding their locks for a good cause this Saturday night, when they take part in a fundraising 'Movember’ shave in aid of the South Westmeath Hospice.

A number of people involved in business and other aspects of life in the town have agreed to take part in the event which will be held in Shine’s Bar, Baylough. The promotional poster for the night promises that it will take place from 10pm on Saturday “until late, or until all hair is removed!”

Organiser Peter Martin said that many of the participants had been affected by cancer during their lives and had come together for the month of November to raise funds for the Hospice.

There will be spot prizes on the night and the event will be compered by a 'surprise special guest’. Croughan’s SuperValu and Shine’s Bar are sponsoring the night.
