UPDATE: Declan Slevin in 11th place at Paralympics in Rio

Rosemount's Declan Slevin has finished in 11th place in the Paracycling H3 time trial at the Paralympics in Rio, with a time of 32.59.53.

He had been in third place at the halfway mark, but slipped back to 11th overall in the second half of the race.

The race was won by Vittorio Podesta of Italy on 28.19.45, with Walter Ablinger of Austria in second on 29.26.01. Charles Moreau of Canada took bronze with a time of 29.26.91.

Declan will also be in action tomorrow evening at 6.20pm when he competes in the Paracycling H3 Road Race.

Declan is joined in Rio by his proud family members - wife Evelyn, daughters Amy (19) and Jessica), and five-year-old son, Graham.
