Rosemount gathering to cheer on Declan Slevin this evening

The community in Rosemount will gather this evening to cheer on local paracycling star Declan Slevin as he competes for the second day running at the Paralympics in Rio.

The Stile Bar in the village is the 'place to be' locally as Declan lines out in the H3 Road Race at around 6pm Irish time.

It's hoped that a live stream of the race will be shown there, and a good crowd is expected. All are welcome.

Yesterday, Declan (47) has finished in 11th place in the Paracycling H3 time trial at the Paralympics, with a time of 32.59.53.

His proud family members - wife Evelyn, daughters Amy and Jessica, and son Graham - travelled to Brazil to cheer him on in person.
