Burglaries at Athlone homes under investigation

Gardai in Athlone are investigating three burglaries which took place at homes in the east side of the town earlier this week.

The incidents occurred overnight on Monday, and into Tuesday, at homes in Cartron Drive, Ard na Glug, and Killyon Hill.

Goods including two laptops, a 40-inch television, a handbag and assorted costmetics were taken during the raids.

Sergeant Andrew Haran said entry had been gained via the front door in two of the three incidents.

He said that Gardai were unsure at this stage whether or not the three burglaries were connected.
