VIDEOS: Watch these special goals by Athlone man Alan Sheehan

Athlone native Alan Sheehan is helping Luton Town to launch a promotion push in England's League Two this season.

The Hatters have put together a decent run in recent times to move up to fourth in the table, just one spot off the automatic promotion spots.

And defender Sheehan has been a key part, not least with his spectacular goals.

And he has weighed in too in Nathan Jones's side's run in the Checkatrade Trophy (the EFL Trophy).

Sheehan grabbed this wonderful free kick in Luton's quarter-final victory over Yeovil Town on February 7 last. (from 20 seconds)

Luton now face a semi-final home to Oxford United on March 1 as they chase a place in the showpiece final in Wembley on April 2.

Meanwhile, in league action, Sheehan has been equally deadly from set pieces, scoring this spectacular effort on New Year's Eve home to Barnet (scroll through to 13 seconds into the footage).

And in September, this free kick away to Hartlepool grabbed an important point for Luton.

With both a promotion push and a possible cup final ahead, it's an exciting season for the Coosan man who can count Leicester City, Leeds United, Notts County and Bradford among his former clubs.
