Three injured in Clonark accident

Three people have been injured, one seriously, in an accident on the old Athlone to Ballinasloe road this morning.

Gardaí in Roscommon are investigating a road traffic collision involving a bus and a car on the R446 at Clonark, Roscommon at approximately 10.15am.

The male driver of the car was seriously injured and the passenger, a female, was uninjured in the crash. 
The male bus driver received minor injuries and was taken to Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe.

The road is closed in both directions to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.  Road users are asked to divert onto the new motorway and use alternative routes.
