Athlone festival gig for Moate musician
Among the line up for this weekend's Athlone Music Festival is new all-girls band Very Angry Girls.
The four-piece band, which describes itself as an indie punk band, includes Moate native Louise McCormack who plays bass guitar and vocals.
The band recently released an EP and its latest single 'Safety Pin Grin' received rave reviews in Hot Press.
The bandmates met in college in Limerick and have been gigging at some of the country's top venues in the past year, including Dolan's Warehouse Limerick, Twisted Pepper Dublin, Pavilion Cork, Stables Mullingar, Roisin Dubh Galway and many more.
As well as playing Athlone Music Festival, the band is earmarked for the Co. Meath Milk Festival along side top bands such as Roisin Murphy, Alexandra Burke, Sophie Ellis Bextar, Bananarama Right Said Fred, and a host more massive names.
Louise McCormack told the Westmeath Independent she was very excited about playing the Athlone Music Festival.
