Australian trio to play The Shack

Comments (0) | Print | Email

My Sauce Good, a tasty Australian acoustic trio of violin, vocals and guitar, playing addictive French Swing, original tunes, soulful Latin-American folksong, a haunting Hebrew lullaby, Bohemian Jazz from the 1920s onwards and contemporary songs given a new lease of life, will play in The Shack this Friday night, August 20.

Uniquely Australian, My Sauce Good is fun, flavoursome and stylish with a cheeky edge. The musicians' diverse cultural and linguistic origins reflect the country's lesser-known history of migration and dislocation, longing and belonging, of identities lost, challenged and reclaimed.

The group has been going from strength to strength with memorable performances at a selection of Australian music festivals and, hip Jazz clubs such as Surry Hills' 505, and major theatres such as The Seymour Centre, Riverside Theatre, The Art Gallery of New South Wales, to mention a few.

The band is proudly promoting their new self-titled CD.

Argentinean-born chanteuse Laura Brozky sings in English, French, Italian, Hebrew and Spanish. She brings an international flavour to the trio acquired through a lifetime spent residing in various parts of the globe where she cultivated her skills and performed in regional festivals collaborating with multi disciplinary artists in Hungary, France, Italy, Serbia, Japan and Mexico.

Australian-born of Dutch descent, Dirk Kruithof plays a spirited swinging guitar accompaniment. He has played, toured and composed extensively for many years with Sydney legends 'Waiting for Guinness'. He arranges much of the material.

Bulgarian born violinist Veren Grigorov studied at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, Vienna and Hannover. He has toured, performed and composed music for TV and theatre productions such as Barrie Kosky's The Golem and Baz Luhrmann's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Veren charismatically ignites the trio with hot passionate bursts of gypsy-like violin.

My Sauce Good will play in The Shack on Friday at 11pm.
