Pearse Park to host Garrycastle v St Brigid's

The All-Ireland Club SFC semi-final between Garrycastle and near neighbours St Brigid's of Kiltoom will take place in Pearse Park, Longford, on Saturday, February 18. In the aftermath of Garrycastle's Leinster final win last Sunday, Pearse Park was considered the most likely venue for the clash between the Leinster and Connacht champions. And a Croke Park spokesperson confirmed to the Westmeath Independent yesterday (Tuesday) that Longford GAA headquarters will host the eagerly-awaited clash (throw-in: 2pm). Garrycastle defated St Brigid's (Dublin) by a single point in last Sunday's Leinster club final. Roscommon champions St Brigid's defeated Corofin by the same margin in the Connacht decider last month, thereby claiming their third Connacht title. The other All-Ireland semi-final between defending champions Crossmaglen Rangers (Armagh) and Dr Crokes will take place in O'Moore Park, Portlaoise (also 2pm).
