Westmeath name team for league opener against Donegal

There are five National Football League debutants on the Westmeath team for the NFL Division 2 clash against Donegal today (Sunday, February 7).

John Gaffey, Stephen Bracken, Tommy Warburton, Paul Greville and Gavin Hoey have all been handed starts by Westmeath manager Brendan Hackett.

Westmeath and Donegal were both relegated from Division 1 last year. Throw-in at Cusack Park is down for 2.30pm.

The Westmeath team is as follows:

G Connaughton (Tubberclair); K Gavin (Mullingar Shamrocks), M Ennis (Ballinagore), J Gaffey (Garrycastle); F Boyle (Killucan), D O'Donoghue (Mullingar Shamrocks), D Harte (Garrycastle); D Duffy (Shandonagh), S Bracken (Coralstown/Kinnegad); T Warburton(Castledaly), Paul Greville (Killucan), J Smyth (The Downs); G Hoey (Tyrrellspass), D Glennon (Tyrrellspass), C Lynam (St. Loman's).
