Pearses trio on Roscommon minor team for Connacht final

Roscommon have named their team for Sunday's Connacht MFC final against Galway at Dr Hyde Park (throw-in: 12 noon). There are three Padraig Pearses players on the team - corner-backs David Murray and Shane Carty and wing-back Conor Daly. The Roscommon minors are managed by Ross Shannon, while Brian Lennon of St Brigid's is a member of the management team. The team is captained by John McManus, son of Clann na nGael and Roscommon football legend Tony McManus. The Rossies started their campaign back with an emphatic win in a novel fixture against New York at Croke Park, and they had an impressive victory over Mayo in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Tommie Joyce has named his Galway side for Sunday's minor final against Roscommon. Athlone Community College student James Shaughnessy from Ballinasloe is named at full-back on the team. There are a host of personnel and positional changes from the Galway team which overcame Leitrim by 4-13 to 0-11 in the semi-final, with Adrian Nolan, Sean Moran and Ian Burke all coming into the side.
