Stone drafted into Westmeath U21 team for clash with Dubs

Castledaly's Alan Stone has been drafted into the Westmeath team for tonight's Cadbury Leinster U21 FC semi-final against Dublin in Portlaoise (Wednesday, 7.30pm). Stone, who missed the quarter-final win over Carlow due to illness, has been selected at midfield in place of Shane Flanagan. The latter was forced off with an ankle injury in the Carlow game and hasn't fully recovered. Once again, senior midfielder John Heslin is listed to start at full-forward. Caulry duo Kevin Maguire (team captain) and Ben Moran - both of whom started for the Westmeath senior in last weekend's league win over Monaghan - line out in the half-back line alongside Maryland's Darren Malynn. Among the senior panellists involved are Kieran Sheridan, Trevor English (Tang), Ger Egan and Callum McCormack (Maryland). Rosemount's Eoin Carberry continues between the posts. Meanwhile, Dublin boss Jim Gavin has kept faith with the team that hammered Laois by 23 points for the clash against Westmeath. There had been some concern over Harry Dawson's fitness, but he has recovered to take his place at full-forward. The team is captained by Gary Sweeney, who was a member of the Dublin team that beat Westmeath in the 2010 Leinster final en route to winning the All-Ireland title.
