Fergal O'Donnell appointed Roscommon minor boss

Fergal O'Donnell has been officially appointed as the new Manager of the Roscommon minor football team. In good news for fans of the Rossies, the Boyle-based garda has been ratified by Roscommon County Board for a two-year term this week. He previously guided the county to a All-Ireland minor glory back in 2006 when Roscommon overcame the might of Kerry to land the Tom Markham Cup after a replay. Last year, Fergal O'Donnell stepped down from his position as manager of the Roscommon senior footballers following three years in charge. During his tenure he led the team to the county's first Connacht Senior title in nine years by defeating Sligo in 2010. Ross Shannon has been named as one of his selectors and details of the rest of his back room team will be confirmed over the coming weeks.
