Brian O'Shaughnessy is presented with the winners' shield by Albert Fallon after Athlone Community College won the North Leinster SF League last December. ACC meet St Mary's, Edenderry in Lakepoint Park, Mullingar today (Thursday, February 14).

ACC v Edenderry clash moved to Mullingar

By Kieran Galvin Athlone CC's Leinster Colleges SF 'A' quarter-final against St Mary's, Edenderry has been switched from Kiltoom to Lakepoint Park, Mullingar today (Thursday, February 14). The St Brigid's GAA pitch in Kiltoom has been deemed unplayable, so the game has been moved to Lakepoint Park (home ground of the St Loman's, Mullingar). The throw-in time has been moved slightly forward to 1.15pm. Athlone Community College, having won the North Leinster league before Christmas, defeated Ardscoil na Trionoide and Salesian College, Celbridge en route to the quarter-finals. However, St Mary's, Edenderry are the defending Leinster and All-Ireland champions and are expected to provide a stiff test. Athlone CC will be without the services of team captain Brian O'Shaughnessy, who sustained a serious injury while playing soccer for the school recently. Marist College, Athlone face Knockbeg College of Carlow in the remaining quarter-final in Rosemount tomorrow (Friday, throw-in 2pm). If ACC and the Marist both win, they will face each other in a local derby semi-final - what an intriguing prospect that would be!
