Darragh Concannon takes the vital penalty

Ballinasloe Town add yet more silverware

An already laden trophy cabinet was added to on Sunday last at the League Grounds in Lecarrow when Ballinasloe Town retained the cup by beating Shiven Rovers in an all-Galway final.
Having already won the Premier Division title and then the Connacht Cup a week ago against Westport, Ballinasloe have had an incredible season. While they only scored once against Rovers, they were worthy winners to again lift the cup for the sixth time in nine seasons.
The only goal of the game came from the penalty spot on 71 minutes as Darragh Concannon scored at the second attempt after John Kilroy had blocked his initial effort. Shiven failed to respond thereafter in a vain attempt at forcing extra-time.
