Egan and heslin out for westmeath connellan and glennon in

Both John Heslin and Ger Egan are missing from the Westmeath team for the All-Ireland SFC Round 4A qualifier against Fermanagh at Kingspan Breffni Park, Cavan tomorrow (Saturday, 5pm).

As expected, ace forward Heslin is not included in the match-day squad - as he’s still recovering from the fractured heel which hampered him in the Leinster final defeat to Dublin.

Egan picked up a groin injury in training last Tuesday night, but the team captain is fit enough to be named on the bench.

In total, there are three changes from the Leinster final team with Kieran Gavin, John Connellan and Denis Glennon replacing David Lynch, Egan and Heslin.

Connellan missed the Leinster final after sustaining an injury in the warm-up, but the Athlone man has been called up for a starting place in attack alongside younger brother Ray.

Former skipper Gavin, who came on as a sub against Dublin, makes his first start in over a year at full-back after battling back from a long-term Achilles injury.

Denis Glennon, a Leinster medal winner in 2004, has been given the task of filling the void left by the absence of Heslin.

Ballymore’s John Gilligan has been named at wing-forward but it’s likely that he will handed a sweeping role.

Meanwhile, Fermanagh boss Pete McGrath has selected an unchanged team from that which overcame Roscommon for the clash with Westmeath (see team list below).

Tickets can also be purchased at the venue on the day but supporters are advised to travel early. Pricing as follows: €20/£16 adults; Juveniles free of charge; Student/OAPs €15/£12.
