Sports Awards launched as ten monthly winners are revealed
The 2015 Westmeath Independent Sports Awards – sponsored by the Shamrock Lodge Hotel - were launched last week and the first ten monthly award winners have been revealed.
The gala awards night will take place at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel on Friday, February 19 2016 – when the overall winner will be announced. Further details about the awards will be published in the Westmeath Independent in the lead-up to the event.
The ten monthly winners to date are:
1) January: Stephen McVeigh - Rugby
2) February: Shauna Stewart & Peter Malynn (Joint Winners) - Special Olympics
3) March: Robbie Henshaw - Rugby
4) April: Sean Doyle - Golfer
5) May: Athlone CC first year girls soccer team - Soccer
6) June: Kieran Martin - Gaelic Football
7) July: Patrick Munnelly - Rowing
8) August: Joe Ward - Boxing
9) September: Flatline Half Marathon Committee
10) October: Jonathan Dunning - Gaelic Football
