ASPCA launches charity calendar

The Athlone Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) last week launched its 2010 calendars. The calendars are on sale at a number of locations throughout the town, priced at €10. ASPCA Inspector Paul McCormack this week explained that the sale of the calendars is the society's biggest fundraiser. The ASPCA is hoping to sell 1,000 calendars to raise much needed funds, which Mr McCormack said are desperately needed as the society is a voluntary organisation and is completely reliant on donations from the public. The calendar is currently available at Gerry Mannion's Veterinary Clinic, Paw's Pet Shop, Seán Óg's pub and will shortly be available at the Westmeath Independent.
