O'Rourke says "not suited" to Presidency
Fianna Fáil Deputy Mary O'Rourke has this week said she would not be seeking the presidency, saying she was not suited to the position. In May, Deputy O'Rourke told the Westmeath Independent and the Late Late Show that she was keeping the door to such a bid 'ajar'. However, this week commenting on speculation that Miriam O'Callaghan was considering running for the presidency, Deputy O'Rourke said: "She's not running, she's made out a statement saying she's not running and that makes two of us. "I'm definitely not running for president. I don't think I'd be suited to it." Previously Deputy O'Rourke said people were always ringing her up and encouraging her to run for president. "It never entered my head until people started saying it to me and Paddy Power started putting up odds," she told the Westmeath Independent in May.
