Fixture details for Westmeath and Roscommon qualifiers confirmed
By Kieran Galvin Both Westmeath and Roscommon have been handed daunting tasks in the second round of the All-Ireland Qualifiers - with the Lake County facing Kerry and the Rossies drawn against Tyrone. Westmeath will take on Kerry at Cusack Park on Sunday week, July 15 (3pm), while Roscommon host Tyrone on the previous day at Hyde Park (2pm). The forthcoming clash will the first ever championship meeting between Westmeath and Kerry, the most successful county in the history of Gaelic football. Westmeath defeated Louth last Saturday, having lost to the same opposition in the Leinster championship. Roscommon, having claimed a sensational win over Armagh yesterday (Sunday), will be hoping to pull off an even bigger surprise against Tyrone. Interestingly, Tyrone knocked Roscommon out of last year's All-Ireland championship in the fourth round of the qualifiers. With the draw pitting them against such tough opposition, both Westmeath and Roscommon will be relieved at having home advantage.
