Tang v Maryland clash to feature on Iarmhí TV

The local derby clash of Tang and Maryland is among the games which will be streamed live by Iarmhí TV this weekend.

In last year's Westmeath intermediate championship, Maryland defeated Tang by 1-10 to 0-9 in a tempestuous game which saw five players sent off. Three Tang men received red cards as Joe Harte's late goal proved to be the decisive score in settling the outcome in Maryland’s favour.

Tang recovered from that setback to reach the semi-finals but once again agonisingly missed out on a place in the final, losing narrowly to Caulry after a replay.

The sides will meet again at Hogan Park, Moate this Sunday (throw-in 3.30pm). It will be Maryland's opening game of the championship but Tang already have a win under their belts, having defeated Kilbeggan Shamrocks by 3-13 to 1-10 in Rosemount last Sunday.

Meanwhile, Caulry will make their return to senior championship football when they face reigning champions Garrycastle on Saturday evening at Páirc Chiaráin, Athlone.

Caulry won last year’s intermediate title and they face a difficult start in the senior ranks against a Garrycastle team which defeated Athlone by four points last weekend.

Rosemount, having edged out Castledaly last weekend, will face The Downs in their second group game on Sunday evening. The Downs defeated Rosemount in last year's SFC quarter-finals and Frankie Dolan’s charges will have to improve on last weekend's display to overturn that result.

Elsewhere, Moate All Whites will clinch a place in the IFC quarter-finals if they avoid defeat to Bunbrosna in Castletown-Geoghegan this evening (Friday, 7.30). Moate had two points to spare against Ballymore in the opening round.

In addition to the Maryland v Tang IFC game, the other fixtures being streamed by Iarmhí TV this weekend are the following SFC games: Coralstown/Kinnegad v Killucan, St Loman's Mullingar v Shandonagh and Rosemount v The Downs.
