Westmeath name starting 15 for league opener

The Westmeath team to line out in tomorrow’s National Football League opener against Meath has been announced.

There is only one change in personnel from the county’s last Allianz Football League game in Newbridge against Kildare in October. Mullingar Shamrocks’ Denis Corroon comes in to the forward line in place of Castledaly's Paddy Holloway.

New captain Kevin Maguire (see separate article here) is pencilled in to line out at full back, with John Heslin named at full forward.

Westmeath team: Jason Daly, Jack Smith, Kevin Maguire (captain), Boidu Sayeh, James Dolan, Ronan Wallace, Jamie Gonoud, Sam Duncan, Ray Connellan, Kieran Martin, Denis Corroon, Ger Egan, Ronan O’Toole, John Heslin and Luke Loughlin.

Andy McEntee has also named his Meath team and it as follows.

Meath team: Andy Colgan; Seamus Lavin, Conor McGill, Ronan Ryan; Eoin Harkin, Shane McEntee (captain), Donal Keogan; Bryan Menton, Padraic Harnan; Ethan Devine, Darragh Campion, Matthew Costello; Jordan Morris, Thomas O'Reilly, Cillian O'Sullivan.

Throw in on Sunday is at 3.45pm.
