Walk-in Covid vaccinations to resume in Athlone later this week

The HSE has announced that walk-in vaccinations will again be offered in Athlone later this week.

A walk-in clinic will take place this Friday, August 6, between 3.30pm and 7.30pm at the vaccination centre in AIT's International Arena.

It means that people aged 16 and above who have not yet been given a Covid-19 vaccine will be able to receive their first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech jab without an appointment during the four-hour window on Friday.

The HSE said 375 people received received their first vaccine dose on a walk-in basis when the first such clinic was held in Athlone last Sunday.
