Road closures planned in Glasson and Rosemount early next week

Westmeath County Council has announced road closures in parts of South Westmeath early next week to allow for resurfacing work to be carried out.

As a result, temporary traffic diversions are to be put in place in the Rosemount area and on the outskirts of Glasson.

The council said that on Monday next, June 20, the resurfacing would be happening on the L-1437 Glasson to Corr Cross (Brittas Road), and also on the L-1303 at Raheen (Between Ballinlig Cross and Moyvoughley).

Next Tuesday, June 21, the work will be carried out on the L-1305 in Rosemount (Moate to Rosemount Road).

The council said a contractor would be carrying out the work from 8am each day, and that it would conclude by 6pm.

"These sections of road will be closed to traffic for the duration of the works with a traffic diversion in place. The roads will reopen to traffic on completion of works each day," said the council.

"Local access will be permitted only. Apologies for any inconvenience caused."
