Tipperary beat Cork to become All-Ireland hurling champions

Tipperary have claimed their 29th All-Ireland hurling title after beating Cork 3-27 to 1-18 at Croke Park.

It is the county's first All-Ireland hurling title since 2019.

John McGrath scored two goals for Tipp, with Darragh McCarthy also scoring a goal from a penalty.

Shane Barrett's goal late in the first-half had Cork ahead by six-points at half-time.

However, it turned out to be quite a one-sided affair in the second half. Towards the end of the game, Cork began chasing goals, but Tipperary were not letting up defensively.

Tipp had a phenomenal second half, with Michael Duignan on commentary for RTÉ saying that it was "one of the great All-Ireland final second half performances".

There were four minutes of extra time played after the 70 minutes were up. During them, Tipp's goalkeeper Rhys Shelly saved Conor Lehane's penalty.
