Niall Murray has been appointed manager of the Padraig Pearses senior football team for 2026

Pearses appoint Murray to senior football manager role

Padraig Pearses have appointed Niall Murray as the club's new senior football manager for 2026.

The Moore native was appointed to the role by the club's adult football board on Monday night and replaces Frank Canning who served the role for the past three years.

Murray has extensive coaching experience and has managed across all grades in the club, most recently as a coach with the senior football team from 2018-2022.

Murray will be hoping to build upon the work of Canning who, during his three year term as senior football manager, led Padraig Pearses to championship success in 2024.

Pearses lost this year's senior football county final to St Brigid's following a replay.

In a social media post, the club wished the new manager every success in the new role.

"We wish Niall the very best of luck in the role and thank everybody involved in the selection process over recent weeks".
