South Roscommon school seeks planning permission for new floodlights

Coláiste Chiaráin in Athlone has lodged plans with Roscommon County Council for the erection of new floodlights for a proposed all-weather pitch on the school grounds.
The application was made to the council on behalf of the south Roscommon secondary school by Dolan & Associates Ltd., Ballinasloe, and any submissions relating to the application should be with the council by April 9. A decision on the application is due to be made on April 30.
The application also includes plans for a ball retention fence and netting for a proposed all-weather playing pitch. The Coláiste Chiaráin Secondary School was created in 2017 from the amalgamation of St Joseph’s College and St Aloysius College, Athlone.
